September 3, 2025: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday unveiled the ‘Samarth Uttar Pradesh – Viksit Uttar Pradesh @2047’ initiative, aimed at collecting public input for the state’s Vision Document 2047. The long-term plan seeks to guide Uttar Pradesh toward becoming a developed state by the 100th anniversary of India’s independence.
The campaign invites citizens to share their suggestions across twelve crucial sectors such as agriculture, industry, information technology, tourism, health, education, and security. To facilitate participation, the government has introduced a dedicated online platform and QR codes in public areas, schools, colleges, and government offices. Inputs collected from the public will help shape the state’s developmental policies and strategies.
During the launch event, CM Adityanath highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s remarkable economic growth in recent years, noting that the state’s GDP has risen from ₹13 lakh crore in 2016-17 to ₹35 lakh crore in 2025. He stressed that this progress demonstrates the state’s potential to transition from a historically underdeveloped region into one of India’s fastest-growing economies.
The Vision Document 2047 is structured around three key pillars: ‘Arth Shakti’ (economic empowerment), ‘Srijan Shakti’ (innovation and education), and ‘Jeevan Shakti’ (health and welfare). It sets ambitious targets, including achieving a $6 trillion economy and a per capita income of ₹26 lakh by 2047. The plan also emphasizes balancing industrial and technological advancement with cultural preservation, promoting tourism, renewable energy, climate resilience, urban-rural development, livestock management, and inclusive social welfare.
To ensure a broad and inclusive feedback process, over 400 experts, including retired officials and academicians, have been engaged to interact with citizens and gather their inputs. The collected suggestions will be reviewed in collaboration with NITI Aayog before finalizing the Vision Document, ensuring it reflects the aspirations of Uttar Pradesh’s residents.
The launch of the campaign represents a significant step toward participatory governance, with the aim of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a model state by 2047 in line with India’s centenary celebrations of independence.
