The paramilitary force, which provides Gandhi with Z+ security cover, has alleged that the senior leader has not been informing the security establishment about his foreign trips, in violation of established norms.
According to officials, the CRPF raised concerns through a formal letter, noting that Gandhi has often bypassed the mandatory Advanced Security Liaison (ASL) process, which requires prior intimation of domestic and international travel. This protocol enables the force to make necessary security arrangements, both in India and abroad, to ensure the safety of protectees under the highest category of security cover.
The BJP seized upon the CRPF’s communication to launch a scathing attack on the Congress, questioning Gandhi’s alleged disregard for national security procedures. Senior BJP leaders argued that repeated violations of security norms by a public figure with Z+ protection not only put his own safety at risk but also strained resources and coordination with foreign agencies. “This shows a pattern of negligence.
