Bomb Threats at Delhi Schools Spark Panic; No Explosives Found

Delhi school bomb threat alert

Multiple schools in the national capital, including Delhi Public School (DPS) in Dwarka, received bomb threats on Saturday, prompting large-scale evacuations and police searches.

Authorities said threatening emails were reported in the morning, leading schools to suspend classes and send students home as a precaution. DPS Dwarka also postponed scheduled examinations. Police, bomb disposal squads, and dog units were immediately deployed to the affected campuses.

“No explosives have been found so far. The threats appear to be hoaxes, but investigations are underway to trace their source,” a senior Delhi Police officer confirmed.

The alerts triggered panic among parents, many of whom rushed to schools to pick up their children. Social media was flooded with anxious posts, with parents demanding stronger security and clear communication from school authorities.

Cybercrime teams have been engaged to identify the origin of the threatening emails. Initial findings suggest the messages may have been routed through international servers, complicating the probe. Officials added that central intelligence agencies are also assisting in the investigation.

This is not the first such incident in the capital. Earlier this year, several schools received similar hoax threats, causing widespread alarm and disrupting academic schedules. Education authorities expressed concern over the psychological toll these recurring false alarms take on students and parents.

“While safety remains our top priority, repeated hoaxes are disruptive and distressing. We hope the culprits are identified soon,” a spokesperson for DPS Dwarka said.

Experts have urged stronger cybersecurity measures to curb such threats. Police have assured heightened vigilance around schools in the coming weeks and appealed to the public to remain calm while reporting any suspicious activity.
