PM Modi Launches Youth-Centric Initiatives Worth ₹62,000 Crore at Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh

Youth initiatives launch by Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated a series of youth-focused initiatives worth more than ₹62,000 crore while addressing the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event, attended by graduates from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the country, highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening skill development and employment opportunities for India’s young workforce.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi lauded the role of ITI graduates in driving India’s industrial growth and emphasized that the nation’s future depends on the talent and determination of its youth. “Skilled hands and innovative minds are India’s true strength. With these new initiatives, we aim to create pathways for youth to contribute to India’s development journey,” he said.

The government’s new measures, announced at the event, focus on expanding vocational training, upgrading technical infrastructure, and supporting youth-led entrepreneurship. According to official details, the ₹62,000 crore package will be directed towards creating new training centers, modernizing ITIs with state-of-the-art equipment, and providing financial support for start-ups and skill-based enterprises.

The Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh, organized annually to honor outstanding ITI graduates, served as the backdrop for the announcement. Top-performing students from across the country were felicitated by the Prime Minister, who also interacted with them about their aspirations and career plans. The initiative underscores the government’s vision of linking skill development directly with industry needs, thereby reducing the gap between education and employment.

Industry leaders welcomed the announcements, noting that the expansion of technical training and support for entrepreneurship would create a more job-ready workforce. Analysts also pointed out that with India aiming to become a global manufacturing hub under the Make in India initiative, investments in vocational education are crucial for sustaining long-term economic growth.

The Prime Minister further stressed that the government’s youth-focused programs are not limited to skilling alone but also include mentorship, access to credit, and opportunities in emerging sectors such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies. These steps, he added, will prepare Indian youth to take on global challenges.

The initiatives are expected to benefit millions of students and job seekers across India, particularly in semi-urban and rural areas where skill development opportunities have traditionally been limited. Experts suggest that such investments could help address unemployment while also boosting India’s demographic dividend.

Concluding his address, Prime Minister Modi urged the youth to embrace innovation, resilience, and self-reliance. “This is not just an investment in infrastructure or institutions—it is an investment in India’s future,” he remarked.

With this announcement, the government has signaled a renewed push toward empowering India’s youth, ensuring that they remain central to the country’s growth story in the coming decade.
