Former Indian cricketer and 1983 World Cup winner Madan Lal has expressed unwavering support for young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, asserting that the 23-year-old left-hander should be a fixture in all three formats of international cricket.
Speaking on the Cricket Predicta TV Show, Lal emphasized Jaiswal’s exceptional talent and match-winning abilities. “If I were a selector, I would never drop Jaiswal from any format,” Lal remarked. “He is a genuine match-winner who has already proven himself in Australia. Whether it is the Asia Cup, an ODI, or a Test match — a player like him should always be in the XI.”
Jaiswal’s recent performances have further solidified his reputation. In the second Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, he scored a commanding 175 runs off 258 balls, showcasing his resilience and skill under pressure.
