Amit Shah Announces Bharat Parv 2025 to Honour the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Amit Shah announces Bharat Parv

New Delhi, October 30, 2025 — Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced a grand nationwide celebration to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, fondly remembered as the Iron Man of India. The series of events, including the much-anticipated Bharat Parv 2025 and a grand parade on October 31, aim to honor Patel’s pivotal role in shaping modern India and promoting the spirit of national unity.

Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Shah revealed that the celebrations will extend from November 1 to November 15, encompassing cultural programs, exhibitions, parades, and the nationwide “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” campaign. “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of a united India remains our guiding force. These celebrations will reflect the values of unity, integrity, and patriotism that he stood for,” Shah said.

The Bharat Parv 2025 festival, to be organized at the iconic India Gate Lawns, will feature performances from artists across the country, showcasing India’s linguistic and cultural diversity. The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with various state governments, has planned themed pavilions, traditional food stalls, and digital exhibitions highlighting Patel’s life, from his leadership in the Indian freedom struggle to his monumental contribution in integrating over 560 princely states into the Indian Union.

The Home Minister also announced that the celebrations will include a special unity parade in Kevadia, Gujarat — home to the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue dedicated to Sardar Patel. Thousands of participants, including students, security personnel, and volunteers, are expected to take part in the march, reaffirming the message of national integration. The parade will be followed by a light-and-sound show narrating Patel’s life and legacy.

Government departments, universities, and civic bodies across the nation have been directed to organize Unity Runs, Essay Competitions, and Public Exhibitions under the theme “Sardar@150: United We Stand.” Schools are preparing special assemblies and cultural events to introduce younger generations to Patel’s ideals of discipline, service, and unity.

Political leaders across party lines have also extended their support to the initiative. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the Statue of Unity in 2018, is expected to address the nation from Kevadia, emphasizing Patel’s role as the architect of independent India’s federal structure.

As India prepares to celebrate the 150th anniversary of one of its greatest statesmen, Bharat Parv 2025 stands as a reminder of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s enduring message — that the strength of India lies in its unity, diversity, and shared destiny.
