As a bird lover, seeing a Kite get saved is a moment that will stay with you forever. The kite, which stands for strength, freedom, and grace, was stuck in a deadly kite thread and couldn’t get out. It was fighting to stay alive. Because of human carelessness the kite had to face unnecessary consequences.
Kite strings, especially sharp synthetic ones, are killing birds without them knowing it. The kite’s wings were stuck together, so it couldn’t move, was tired, and hurt.
Thank goodness kindness won out. Pratyush Paranjape, a bird lover and also part of Team RESQ, which helps save other animals like dogs, cats, snakes, etc., who take care while they suffer from unfortunate incidents, stepped up right away and saved the eagle with outstanding care and bravery. His quick action saved the bird from serious injury and maybe even death. They gently freed the eagle and took care of it. Pratyush also mentioned his friends Mihir Bhave, Sumit Sugandhi and Apurv Doshi who contributed to this rescue. Later Team RESQ took away the Kite for treatment. After treatment and recovery, the Kite will be freed in its natural habitat.
This event is a strong reminder that we all have a duty to protect birds. Using eco-friendly kite threads, not throwing things away carelessly, and reporting injured birds are all simple things that can save many lives.
It’s not just about eagles but with regard to respecting nature and keeping the balance of life. May this Kite that was saved be able to fly freely without any entanglements like these.
