Speaking in Accra alongside Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, PM Modi called for enhanced collaboration among nations of the Global South. He emphasized that India’s development journey is not isolated, but deeply intertwined with the progress of other emerging economies.
“India is prepared to lead responsibly and support its fellow Global South partners. A stable and strong India will act as a pillar for global peace, development, and cooperation,” he said.

From trade and infrastructure to technology and education, India is actively seeking to deepen its engagements in Africa as part of a larger South-South cooperation framework.

- Launching joint solar energy projects under the International Solar Alliance
- Offering more scholarships under India’s ITEC programme
- Proposing digital infrastructure collaboration based on India’s successful public platforms

India’s engagement with the Global South has gained significant momentum in recent years, particularly through platforms like the Voice of Global South Summit. The Prime Minister reiterated that the concerns of the developing world, such as climate resilience, food security, and digital inclusion, deserve greater attention on the global stage.
