MP Murlidhar Mohol Inaugurates 24×7 Digital Citizen Service Center in Pune

Pune Digital Citizen Service Center, 24x7 public services

July 11.2025 – In a landmark step towards enhancing public service delivery and promoting digital governance, Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol on Thursday inaugurated a 24×7 Digital Citizen Service Center in the city. The state-of-the-art facility aims to provide round-the-clock assistance to residents, streamlining access to essential government services.

Speaking at the launch event, Mohol said the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision and reflects the government’s commitment to transparent and citizen-friendly governance. “This 24×7 center will enable citizens to connect with government departments anytime, ensuring faster resolution of issues and improved civic engagement,” he stated.

The center, equipped with advanced IT infrastructure and multilingual support, offers services related to property tax, water supply, electricity, healthcare schemes, and more. It is integrated with multiple civic and government bodies, including the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).

Designed as a one-stop digital hub, the facility includes self-service kiosks, video conferencing booths for direct interaction with officials, and real-time grievance tracking. Officials also announced the upcoming launch of a dedicated mobile app to further enhance accessibility.

According to PMC officials, the digital service center is expected to reduce bureaucratic delays, increase administrative transparency, and serve as a model for other urban centers across Maharashtra and India. Residents can now access government assistance without time constraints, a move that is likely to benefit working individuals and senior citizens.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior PMC officials, IT consultants, and representatives from various government departments. Early feedback from citizens using the service has been positive, with users praising the speed and efficiency of the platform.

Mohol, a BJP MP and former Mayor of Pune, emphasized that digital transformation of governance is essential to meet the needs of a growing urban population. “Our goal is to bring the government closer to the people. This center is a step in that direction,” he said.

The initiative is seen as part of a broader push to position Pune as a leading smart city, with technology-driven infrastructure and services aimed at improving quality of life for its residents.
