Officials confirmed that one person lost their life, while another remains untraced. Rescue forces are continuing operations despite damaged roads and widespread debris.
The sudden downpour sent torrents of water rushing through villages, sweeping away soil and stones from the surrounding slopes. Several houses were buried, forcing families to take shelter on higher ground. Crops and farmland also suffered extensive damage, raising concerns about the livelihoods of residents in the affected areas.
Personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the Army were quickly deployed to the site.
