August 29, 2025: Conflicting information has surfaced regarding the Ahmedabad City Square project, raising questions about the tower’s height and overall budget. Recent reports indicate that the tower could reach 180 meters, while earlier plans suggested a 125-meter structure with a total city development cost of around ₹670 crore.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had initially proposed a 125-meter tower in its 2024-25 draft budget. The design aimed to enhance public amenities with features like a central court, fountains, amphitheaters, skylights, and a food court. The initial budget for this phase of the project was estimated at ₹125 crore.
Recent updates suggest the project scope has expanded, with a new tower planned at 180 meters, potentially making it the tallest in the city. The revised plan includes landscaped gardens, recreational zones, and commercial spaces, with a total projected expenditure of ₹669.37 crore. Two plots near Oxygen Park, covering approximately 13,144 square meters, have been identified for construction. AMC has appointed experts to conduct soil and wind studies to ensure the taller tower’s structural stability. Final approval will require clearance from the state tall building committee and a No Objection Certificate from the Airports Authority of India.
Urban planners have highlighted the importance of clear communication and consistent project details to prevent public confusion. Officials are urged to clarify discrepancies to maintain trust and ensure the project aligns with the city’s long-term urban development plans.
Residents and stakeholders continue to monitor the situation closely, awaiting definitive information on the tower’s design and the overall City Square development.
