Hyderabad to Get First Artificial Beach and Adventure Sports Destination

Hyderabad artificial beach project

August 29, 2025: The Telangana government has announced plans to construct the city’s first artificial beach and adventure sports destination near Kotwal Guda. The project aims to offer residents and tourists a unique coastal experience within Hyderabad.

Spanning approximately 35 acres, the development will feature a man-made lake with sandy shores, wave pools, and designated leisure areas. Officials said the initiative will provide a modern recreational space for families and young visitors, creating an urban escape reminiscent of natural beach settings. Construction is expected to begin in December 2025, with an estimated investment of ₹225 crore, under a public-private partnership model.

The artificial beach will be complemented by adventure sports facilities, including bungee jumping, sailing, skating, and winter sports. Luxury accommodations and floating villas are also planned, allowing visitors to stay overnight and enjoy the destination fully.

Authorities selected Kotwal Guda for its strategic location near the Outer Ring Road, ensuring convenient access from all parts of the city. Eco-friendly practices are being prioritized throughout the construction process to minimize environmental impact.

The Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) highlighted the project’s potential to enhance local tourism and the economy. Officials said the artificial beach could serve as a major attraction for both domestic and international tourists, further positioning Hyderabad as a hub for innovative recreational spaces.

With its combination of relaxation and adventure, the Kotwal Guda artificial beach is expected to become a landmark destination, attracting families, adventure seekers, and tourists alike, while setting a new benchmark for urban recreational projects in Hyderabad.
