The advisory cites a heightened risk of retaliation by Tehran following Berlin’s involvement in triggering the reimposition of United Nations sanctions on Iran’s nuclear program.
The German Foreign Ministry emphasized that the move comes in response to Iran’s escalating nuclear activities, which violate agreements under the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Germany, along with France and the United Kingdom, initiated the “snapback” mechanism to restore international sanctions after Iran failed to comply with nuclear inspection protocols.
