The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the CBSE Board Results 2025 for both Class 10 and Class 12 students. Released on May 12, 2025, the results reflect a record-breaking performance this year, with an overall pass percentage of 93.4% for Class 10 and 89.7% for Class 12. The board has also emphasized seamless digital access and increased transparency in result processing.

More than 38 lakh students across India and abroad appeared for the CBSE board examinations this year, which were conducted between February and April 2025. As per the data released by the CBSE, girls once again outperformed boys in both Class 10 and 12, continuing a positive trend seen over the past few years. The pass percentage among girls in Class 12 was 91.2%, compared to 88.3% for boys.
Students can access their CBSE 2025 results via the official website cbseresults.nic.in, the UMANG app, DigiLocker, and through SMS services. The CBSE has further streamlined digital result delivery by integrating the Academic Repository on DigiLocker, allowing students to download their marksheets, migration certificates, and pass certificates online.
This year’s results also mark a technological leap in the assessment process. CBSE introduced AI-based evaluation for several subjects to ensure consistency and reduce manual errors. “We are moving toward greater digitization and accuracy in evaluation and result generation,” said CBSE Chairperson Nidhi Chhibber.
Top-performing regions in Class 12 include Trivandrum, Bengaluru, and Chennai, while for Class 10, Ajmer and Panchkula topped the performance charts. Several schools in these zones recorded 100% pass rates, further underlining the quality of academic delivery in these regions.
The 2025 CBSE results come at a crucial time for students planning to pursue higher education. Colleges and universities across India are now beginning their admissions process, and institutions like Delhi University, JNU, and private universities have already opened application portals.
Education analysts have praised the board’s emphasis on competency-based learning and a gradual shift from rote memorization. The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is being increasingly integrated into CBSE’s curriculum and examination structure, with an emphasis on conceptual clarity, analytical ability, and digital literacy.
While the overall performance has been commendable, students who are dissatisfied with their scores have the option to apply for re-evaluation or verification of marks through the CBSE portal starting May 15. The board has also announced that CBSE compartment exams 2025 will be held in July.
