MAHINDRA REDUCES PRICES OF XUV 3XO BY UP TO ₹4 LAKH TO BOOST SALES

Mahindra XUV 3XO price cut

Mumbai, July 5, 2025:
In a surprising development in the Indian automotive sector, Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a substantial reduction in the prices of its latest compact SUV, the XUV 3XO, slashing rates by as much as ₹4 lakh across select variants.

The revision comes merely three months after the official launch of the vehicle in April and is seen as a strategic response to intensifying competition in the compact SUV segment. The move positions the XUV 3XO as one of the most aggressively priced offerings in its class.

The most significant reduction is observed in the AX5 Select (AX5 S) variant, which will now be available at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹7.49 lakh, down from its earlier price of ₹11.49 lakh. The new prices are applicable with immediate effect and are expected to remain in force for a limited period.

MARKET STRATEGY

Industry observers interpret the price cut as a calculated attempt by Mahindra to undercut rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Brezza, all of which dominate the compact SUV space.

A Mahindra spokesperson stated that the company aims to make high-quality mobility accessible to a wider audience and to offer greater value to customers in the sub-₹10 lakh price bracket. The move is expected to significantly enhance footfall in Mahindra showrooms in the coming weeks.

VEHICLE FEATURES

The XUV 3XO is a facelifted and technically enhanced version of the XUV300. It comes with multiple engine options, including a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission choices include manual, automatic, and AMT variants.

Among the key highlights are a panoramic sunroof, six airbags as standard, a 10.25-inch infotainment display, connected car technology, and Level 2 ADAS features available in top-end trims.

CUSTOMER RESPONSE

Initial consumer response has been enthusiastic. Several prospective buyers have welcomed the decision on social media platforms, calling the price cut “unexpected yet timely.” Dealers have also reported increased inquiries following the announcement.

Auto experts believe the move could have a ripple effect across the segment, possibly prompting competitors to introduce price corrections or offer promotional schemes in the near future.
