Mumbai, June 14, 2025 In a bid to make its popular SUV more accessible to a wider audience, Mahindra & Mahindra has launched new automatic variants of the Scorpio N Z4 trim. With this update, the Scorpio N Z4 becomes the most affordable automatic version in the model’s lineup. The petrol automatic variant now starts at ₹15.95 lakh (ex-showroom), significantly lowering the entry point for buyers seeking convenience without a steep price tag.

The newly introduced automatic trims are available in both petrol and diesel engine options, with 2WD and 4WD configurations. The Scorpio N Z4 Diesel AT 2WD is priced at ₹16.45 lakh, while the Z4 Diesel AT 4WD is offered at ₹18.54 lakh (ex-showroom). These additions aim to strengthen Mahindra’s position in the growing mid-size SUV segment, especially among urban buyers favoring automatic transmissions.

Despite being a mid-range variant, the Scorpio N Z4 AT comes equipped with several premium features. These include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, LED DRLs, and electronically adjustable ORVMs. In terms of safety, the model offers dual airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, traction control, and rear parking sensors.

Powering the Z4 AT variants are Mahindra’s established engines. The 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine delivers 200 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, while the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine produces 172 bhp and up to 400 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, ensuring a smooth driving experience across terrains.

The Scorpio N, first launched in June 2022, has become one of Mahindra’s best-selling SUVs, known for its rugged build, off-road prowess, and comfortable interiors. The addition of these new trims is expected to attract a younger demographic and city-based customers who prioritize convenience and value.

With the introduction of the Z4 automatic variants, Mahindra has effectively responded to market demand for affordable automatic SUVs. The updated lineup not only offers more choices for buyers but also reinforces Scorpio N’s standing as a strong contender in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
