New Delhi, June 14 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-nation tour from June 15 to 19, with scheduled visits to Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia. The tour will include high-level bilateral meetings and India’s participation in the G7 Summit in Canada.
According to an official statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Prime Minister Modi will begin his visit in Cyprus from June 15 to 16. This will be his first official visit to the island nation, where he is expected to hold talks with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and other top leaders. The discussions will focus on deepening bilateral cooperation in areas such as maritime security, digital innovation, education, and trade. A series of cultural and economic events are also planned to mark the occasion.
Following the Cyprus leg, the Prime Minister will travel to Kananaskis, Canada, to participate in the G7 Summit scheduled for June 16 and 17. India has been invited as a special guest nation by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. PM Modi is expected to address key sessions at the summit, highlighting India’s perspectives on climate change, artificial intelligence, energy security, and inclusive development.
On the sidelines of the summit, PM Modi is likely to hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. His participation is seen as a strategic move to further India’s position as a global voice on behalf of the Global South.
On June 18, the Prime Minister will arrive in Croatia for the final leg of his tour. During the visit, he will meet Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and President Zoran Milanović. The discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in defence manufacturing, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and IT services. India and Croatia are also expected to sign a series of agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral relations.
This visit is part of India’s broader diplomatic efforts to strengthen its global engagements across Europe and North America. Officials say the trip underscores New Delhi’s commitment to fostering strong international partnerships in an increasingly interconnected world.
The Ministry of External Affairs added that PM Modi’s tour is expected to bolster India’s economic and strategic ties with key global partners and reflect India’s growing role in shaping international dialogue.
