Pune, June 4, 2025 — Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), the agency responsible for running bus services in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, has disclosed a total operational loss amounting to ₹3,863.1 crore over the past ten years. The disclosure comes from the agency’s latest financial reports and points to persistent financial challenges.
The losses have been attributed to increasing costs, such as fuel, maintenance, and staff salaries, which have outpaced revenue growth. The irregular adjustment of bus fares and fluctuating passenger numbers have further affected the agency’s income.
