Revealed: Lover and Friends Help Woman Murder Husband During Honeymoon, All Arrested

honeymoon murder Sonam Raghuvanshi

New Delhi, June 10, 2025 — In a disturbing revelation, police have arrested five individuals, including a newlywed woman, her lover, and his three friends, for the brutal murder of her husband during their honeymoon. The case, initially seen as a tragic accident, has now been confirmed as a meticulously planned crime.

Sonam Raghuvanshi, the victim’s wife, has been identified as the prime accused. According to investigators, she conspired with her lover, Raj, to eliminate her husband shortly after their wedding. Raj, described by police as the “mastermind” behind the murder, allegedly enlisted the help of three of his close friends to carry out the killing.

The incident occurred while the couple was on their honeymoon. Investigators revealed that Raj’s associates followed the couple to the location and executed the murder on his instructions. The group attempted to stage the crime scene to make the death appear accidental. However, several inconsistencies in Sonam’s account, along with forensic evidence and mobile data, raised red flags.

A senior police official said, “This was not an impulsive act. It was a pre-planned murder involving multiple people, all working in coordination. The motive appears to be the continuation of the illicit relationship between Sonam and Raj, without the husband in the picture.”

The investigation, aided by call logs, surveillance footage, and chat records, clearly established the connection between all the accused and confirmed their involvement. The three friends who carried out the act were in constant communication with Raj before, during, and after the murder.

All five individuals have been booked under Sections 302 (murder), 120B (criminal conspiracy), and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code. They are currently in police custody and are being interrogated further to identify any additional conspirators or motives.

The victim’s family, shocked and devastated, has called for the harshest punishment possible. “We are shattered. She had barely been married a few days, and she planned all this,” said a relative.

This case has sparked public outrage across the country, especially due to the cold and calculated nature of the crime. Legal experts say the prosecution is expected to push for a fast-track trial, given the strength of the evidence and public interest.

Police are preparing a detailed chargesheet and stated that this case is a chilling example of how intimate relationships, when fueled by betrayal and deceit, can end in violence.
