
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, bringing excitement and pride to aspirants across the country. UPSC CSE is widely known for its challenging three-stage selection process: the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and the Personality Test. In 2024, over 9.92 lakh candidates applied, and around 5.83 lakh appeared for the Prelims held on June 16. Of these, 14,627 cleared the cut-off to qualify for the Mains. Following the written exam in September, 2,845 candidates were shortlisted for the interview phase. Ultimately, 1,009 candidates have been recommended for various Group A and B posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other allied services.
The top selections come from a variety of academic disciplines. Fourth rank holder Shah Margi Chirag holds a Computer Engineering degree and selected Sociology as her optional subject. Similarly, Aakash Garg, who ranked fifth, is a Computer Science graduate who also chose Sociology. This diversity reflects the inclusive nature of the examination and the wide academic representation among successful candidates.
