Sony India has kicked off its much-anticipated “Festive Sale,” offering a ₹5,000 discount on both the PlayStation 5 Disc and Digital Edition consoles. The limited-time promotion is set to run from September 22 to October 19, 2025, or until stocks last, providing gamers an opportunity to purchase the popular consoles at reduced prices during the festive season.
Under the offer, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, originally priced at ₹49,990, is now available for ₹44,990. Similarly, the PlayStation 5 Disc Edition, which retailed for ₹54,990, can now be purchased for ₹49,990. Sony India has confirmed that the sale is valid across major retail stores and its official online platforms.
Industry analysts note that the timing of the sale is strategic, coinciding with the festive period when consumer spending typically spikes. “Festive season sales are crucial for consumer electronics brands in India. Sony’s discount on the PS5 is likely to drive both new purchases and upgrades among gaming enthusiasts,” said Ramesh Kumar, a market analyst at TechInsights India.
The PlayStation 5, which has remained in high demand since its launch, continues to attract gamers with its advanced features, including ultra-high-speed SSD storage, immersive 3D audio, and a range of exclusive games. The Digital Edition, lacking a disc drive, targets users who prefer downloading games online, while the Disc Edition caters to traditional gamers who value physical game copies.
Sony India has also emphasized that the sale is subject to availability and encourages interested buyers to make purchases early to avoid missing out.
