August 6, 2025 – Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh, has announced that candidates who experienced genuine disruptions during the recent Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examinations will be granted another opportunity to appear for the test. This announcement follows widespread complaints and student demonstrations related to alleged irregularities in the SSC Selection Post Phase 13 recruitment exam.
In recent weeks, numerous aspirants raised concerns over severe technical issues at exam centres across the country. Reports included system crashes, interrupted internet connectivity, biometric failures, and power outages. These issues led to incomplete or halted examinations for many candidates, prompting widespread dissatisfaction and calls for accountability.
Student groups and individuals took to social media platforms to voice their grievances, with hashtags such as #ReExamSSCPhase13 and #SSCTechGlitch trending nationally. Visual evidence and first-hand accounts were widely shared, showing candidates waiting outside exam centres or being turned away due to malfunctioning systems.
Responding to the situation, Dr. Singh assured that the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has taken the complaints seriously and is working closely with the SSC to ensure fair redressal. “Candidates who faced verified technical disruptions will be provided with a fair chance to reappear,” he stated during a press briefing, reinforcing the government’s objective of maintaining transparency and trust in public recruitment.
