Pune, June 7 – Global human capital management (HCM) software leader UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) has officially announced the opening of its new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune, Maharashtra, further solidifying its footprint in India’s rapidly growing technology landscape.
The new facility is expected to bolster UKG’s global operations, with a strong focus on engineering, product development, cloud operations, and customer support. The company already has a well-established presence in Noida, and the Pune expansion underlines its continued commitment to India as a strategic innovation and delivery hub.
The centre was inaugurated earlier this week in the presence of senior leadership, including David Almeda, Chief People Officer at UKG, who highlighted India’s significance in the company’s global growth plans. “India plays a vital role in our strategy. This new centre in Pune allows us to deepen our collaboration with top talent and support innovation at a global scale,” he said.
Arvind Ravi, Managing Director – India GCC at UKG, stated that the Pune centre will contribute to key areas such as AI/ML, data analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure. He added that UKG is actively hiring across various domains and is focused on building a workplace culture that emphasizes innovation, inclusion, and employee well-being.
The new Pune facility is designed with modern infrastructure and sustainable practices, aligning with UKG’s people-centric approach. It will serve as a base for high-impact projects that enhance the company’s HCM and workforce management solutions offered across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
UKG’s investment in Pune comes amid a broader trend of multinational companies expanding their Global Capability Centres in India, capitalizing on the country’s vast talent pool and operational scalability. Pune has become a preferred destination for tech companies due to its thriving IT ecosystem, proximity to top educational institutions, and growing startup network.
Industry experts believe the new GCC will also boost local employment and economic activity, with potential collaborations in academia and skilling initiatives. The development further cements India’s position as a global technology hub.
With rising global demand for digital workforce solutions, UKG’s expansion is seen as a strategic move to enhance its agility, innovation, and service delivery in the evolving HCM landscape.
