The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), the apex body representing India’s auto parts industry, has chosen Vikrampati Singhania, Managing Director of JK Fenner (India) Ltd., as its new President for 2025-26. Sriram Viji, Managing Director of Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., has been named President-Designate, positioning him to take over the role in the following term.
Fresh Leadership for a Sector in Transition
ACMA announced the appointments at its annual general meeting. The association represents more than 850 manufacturers and suppliers of automotive components across the country. Industry observers say the leadership change comes at a time when the sector faces rapid electrification, evolving supply chains and new environmental standards.
Vikrampati Singhania’s Priorities
Singhania is expected to focus on increasing localisation of components, improving export competitiveness, and investing in new technologies. He has also emphasised that sustainability and innovation will be central to his agenda as President.
Role of the President-Designate
By naming Sriram Viji as President-Designate, ACMA ensures a smooth succession and continuity in policy. Viji is known for his work on braking systems and for promoting digitalisation and process efficiency within the industry. His future leadership is expected to continue many of the initiatives Singhania plans to begin.
Industry Context
India’s auto components market, valued at over ₹5.5 lakh crore, supplies both domestic vehicle makers and overseas customers. With government incentives for electric vehicles and tighter emission norms, suppliers are under pressure to upgrade technology and reduce reliance on imported parts.
What This Means for Members
ACMA’s new leadership will be expected to work with policymakers, OEMs and global partners to expand India’s footprint in the mobility supply chain, develop talent for next-generation manufacturing and support small and medium-sized suppliers in adapting to new trends.
Conclusion
By electing Vikrampati Singhania as President and appointing Sriram Viji as President-Designate, ACMA has signalled a steady hand at the wheel as India’s component industry navigates disruption and growth. Their combined experience could help the sector accelerate localisation, adopt advanced technologies and strengthen its global standing.
