In a proud moment for India, Hillang Yajik secured a gold medal at the 14th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2025, held in the Maldives. Representing India in the 55 kg category, Yajik emerged as the top performer among participants from across South Asia.
Hailing from Arunachal Pradesh, Yajik’s victory marks a significant milestone, as he becomes the first athlete from the state to win gold in a South Asian bodybuilding competition. His remarkable achievement has brought national attention to the northeastern region’s growing contribution to Indian sports.
The championship, organized by the South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation, witnessed intense competition across weight categories.
