August 9, 2025 – In the ninth consecutive day of a counter-terrorism operation in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, two Indian Army soldiers lost their lives. Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh were killed during Operation Akhal, which targets militant groups operating in the region. Additionally, four other soldiers sustained injuries and are currently under medical care in stable condition.
The operation has so far led to the elimination of two terrorists, marking a crucial success for security forces engaged in the mission. Troops continue their search and clearance activities to neutralize any remaining threats and restore normalcy.
The Indian Army conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, honoring their sacrifice in defending the nation. Both soldiers are remembered for their courage and commitment in the face of ongoing security challenges.
