Pune Ganeshotsav 2025 security

August 28, 2025 – The city of Pune is gearing up for the annual Ganeshotsav celebrations with extensive security arrangements and meticulous crowd management plans in place. This year, over 9,000 police personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the festival, with permissions from previous years remaining valid.

Authorities have confirmed that the force includes officers from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Home Guards, who will be stationed across major Ganesh mandals and immersion points. Special emphasis has been placed on law and order, with dedicated squads to prevent incidents such as chain snatching, vehicle theft, and harassment.

The Pune Police have also announced the use of modern technology to aid in surveillance and crowd management. AI-powered video analytics, mobile surveillance units, and mandatory CCTV installation at all mandals are expected to significantly enhance monitoring. Over 20 watch towers, drone surveillance, and anti-drone measures have been introduced to manage large gatherings efficiently.

Traffic management remains a major focus, with road closures, diversions, and parking arrangements already planned. The Pune Metro has also prepared for the surge in passengers with additional ticket counters, dedicated entry and exit points, and increased manpower at key stations including Mandai, Swargate, and Kasba Peth.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has simplified the permitting process, allowing all permissions from the previous year to remain valid. Authorities continue to engage with Ganesh mandals through multiple review meetings to ensure preparedness and address any arising issues.

With devotees expected in large numbers, the administration urges citizens to cooperate with the police and follow safety guidelines to make Ganeshotsav 2025 a safe and joyous celebration.
