Reliance Intelligence AI launch

August 30, 2025: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced the creation of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, aimed at advancing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in India. The announcement was made by Chairman Mukesh Ambani during the company’s 48th Annual General Meeting on Friday.

Reliance Intelligence will focus on developing AI infrastructure, building sector-specific AI solutions, collaborating with global technology partners, and fostering talent in AI research and development. The subsidiary is expected to play a central role in supporting India’s growth as a global hub for AI innovation.

As part of its roadmap, Reliance Intelligence will establish AI-ready data centers powered by renewable energy. These facilities will provide the computational power needed for large-scale AI research and enterprise-level applications. Initial projects are underway in Jamnagar, Gujarat, with operations set to expand in stages to meet increasing demand.

The subsidiary also plans to work with international tech firms and open-source AI communities. This approach is designed to bring global AI innovations to India while creating solutions tailored to local industries. Priority sectors include healthcare, education, agriculture, and energy, where AI technologies are expected to enhance productivity and efficiency.

In addition to technology development, Reliance Intelligence will invest in training programs to cultivate skilled AI professionals. The company aims to ensure a robust talent pool capable of supporting India’s growing AI ecosystem and sustaining innovation in the long term.

At the AGM, Ambani also highlighted initiatives such as the Jio AI Cloud, a platform offering intelligent storage and computing solutions, and JioPC, an AI-ready personal computing device designed to improve accessibility for homes and businesses. Furthermore, RIL has joined forces with Meta to deliver enterprise AI solutions to Indian companies, combining Reliance’s market reach with Meta’s technological expertise.

Ambani drew a comparison with the transformative impact of Reliance Jio on digital access in India. “Reliance Intelligence will similarly make AI accessible to people and businesses across the country,” he said, underscoring the potential for AI to drive innovation and growth nationwide.

The launch of Reliance Intelligence signifies a major step for Reliance Industries in leading AI adoption. By focusing on infrastructure, partnerships, applications, and talent development, the subsidiary is expected to contribute significantly to India’s technological progress and economic development.
