August 30, 2025 – Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has announced that it will provide ₹25 lakh (around USD 29,970) to the families of each of the 11 people who lost their lives in the stampede at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, 2025. The tragic incident took place during celebrations of RCB’s first Indian Premier League (IPL) title win.
In an official statement, the franchise expressed its deep sorrow, describing the victims as an integral part of the RCB family. “The loss of these eleven lives has left a permanent void in our community. Their presence will be missed by everyone associated with RCB,” the statement read.
The financial support will be distributed through RCB’s newly introduced program, ‘RCB Cares’, aimed at assisting the victims’ families while reinforcing the franchise’s commitment to its fans and the wider community. Officials highlighted that this initiative is intended not only as monetary assistance but also as a gesture of solidarity and care.
The stampede occurred during a victory parade following RCB’s maiden IPL championship, resulting in 11 deaths and numerous injuries. The tragedy prompted the franchise to adopt long-term measures to provide aid and ensure safety during future events.
While many have lauded RCB for taking responsibility and supporting the affected families, some observers have questioned whether the relief is sufficient. Nevertheless, the franchise has reiterated its commitment to helping those impacted and honoring the memory of the victims.
This move reflects RCB’s ongoing dedication to community welfare and underscores the importance of corporate responsibility in the wake of unforeseen tragedies.
