AAP MP Raghav Chadha Demands Free AI Access for All Indians

Free AI access for Indians

22 August,2025 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha on Wednesday urged the central government to provide free access to advanced artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, for every citizen. The demand was raised during Chadha’s address in the Rajya Sabha.

Chadha highlighted that AI can serve as a transformative resource for multiple segments of society, including students, farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, and senior citizens. He stressed that these tools could boost productivity, streamline tasks, and save valuable time in day-to-day work.

The AAP MP cited examples of countries like Singapore, the UAE, and China, which have adopted government-supported AI initiatives to ensure widespread accessibility. He cautioned that without such measures, India could fall behind in the rapidly evolving global AI landscape, expected to be a $15 trillion industry by 2030.

“Indians need to be ready for the future, and providing free access to AI tools is a crucial step in that direction,” Chadha said, emphasizing that AI should be seen not only as a technological development but also as a means to empower citizens to achieve their aspirations.

By advocating for unrestricted AI access, Chadha called for technological inclusivity, enabling people from diverse economic and social backgrounds to harness the potential of AI, thereby contributing to national growth and innovation.
