The Adani Group has announced the launch of the Adani Accelerated Leadership Program (AALP) at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), aiming to nurture the next generation of business leaders. This initiative reflects the group’s commitment to fostering strong industry-academia collaboration and promoting leadership development in India.
Under the program, six first-year MBA students from IIM Calcutta will be selected annually to receive financial support totaling ₹1.62 crore over two years. The endowment will be disbursed in two tranches of ₹81 lakh each, contingent on the students’ academic performance and leadership potential.
The program was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in the presence of Professor Alok Kumar Rai, Director of IIM Calcutta. During the pre-launch event on September 19, students had the opportunity to interact with senior executives from the Adani Group, gaining insights into corporate leadership and strategic management.
In a statement, the Adani Group emphasized that the AALP is part of its broader effort to develop future-ready leaders who can drive growth and innovation across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and logistics. “We believe that partnerships between leading educational institutions and industry play a crucial role in preparing students for real-world challenges,” the group said.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the pipeline of skilled professionals and create avenues for students to engage in practical, industry-oriented learning. IIM Calcutta faculty noted that such collaborations enhance students’ exposure to corporate governance, strategic decision-making, and leadership practices.
With the Adani Accelerated Leadership Program, the group sets a benchmark for corporate-supported leadership development programs in India, combining financial assistance with mentorship and experiential learning opportunities.
