Adani Group Launches “Sun To Every Village” Campaign to Boost Solar Adoption

Sun To Every Village campaign

8 July, 2025-Adani Group has launched a new national campaign titled “Sun To Every Village”, aimed at accelerating the adoption of solar energy in rural India. The campaign comes as Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) achieves a major milestone by crossing 15,539.9 megawatts (MW) of operational renewable energy capacity.

According to the company, the campaign is designed to promote solar power as a primary source of energy for remote and underserved villages. The initiative includes awareness drives, solar installation programs, and educational outreach to highlight the benefits of clean energy in improving rural livelihoods.

The announcement follows AGEL’s recent achievement of surpassing 15,000 MW in operational renewable energy capacity. The company stated that this milestone marks a significant step in its journey to become one of the world’s leading renewable energy firms. The current capacity includes a mix of solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects deployed across several Indian states.

The “Sun To Every Village” campaign will focus on increasing solar energy penetration in off-grid and low-power-access regions. Adani Group plans to collaborate with local bodies, NGOs, and technology partners to implement solar projects and provide long-term maintenance and support. The initiative also aims to create employment opportunities by training local youth in solar technology and system management.

AGEL officials said the campaign aligns with India’s broader target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. The group’s expansion strategy focuses on sustainable energy generation and inclusive development, particularly in energy-deprived rural areas.

The company also emphasized its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, noting that the campaign will support India’s transition to a low-carbon economy while improving the quality of life in remote villages.

With this campaign, Adani Group aims to demonstrate how solar power can drive change at the grassroots level — from powering homes and schools to enhancing agricultural productivity and healthcare services. Visual storytelling, field activities, and partnerships with local influencers will be used to increase community engagement and adoption.

Industry experts have welcomed the move, noting that such initiatives are essential to achieving India’s clean energy goals while ensuring equitable access to power. The combination of large-scale infrastructure and community-level impact could serve as a model for other developers in the renewable energy sector.

The Adani Group’s continued focus on solar energy and rural electrification is expected to further strengthen its leadership in the renewable sector, while contributing to India’s vision of energy independence and environmental sustainability.
