The upcoming platform is designed to support a series of budget-friendly electric scooters, signaling Ather’s entry into the high-volume, cost-conscious segment of the EV market.
According to company sources, the EL platform will power models that are expected to carry a price tag below ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks a strategic shift from Ather’s current focus on premium electric scooters like the 450X and 450S, as it aims to cater to a broader consumer base, especially in smaller cities and towns where affordability remains a key concern.
While full technical specifications are yet to be disclosed, the new scooters are anticipated to offer a simplified design, optimized performance for urban commuting, and core features such as a digital interface and smart connectivity.
