In a significant stride towards expanding high-speed internet accessibility, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has officially launched its Quantum 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services in India. The announcement marks BSNL’s ambitious push into the 5G broadband segment, aiming to provide ultra-fast internet connectivity in areas where traditional wired broadband infrastructure remains limited.
The newly introduced BSNL Quantum 5G FWA service is set to offer blazing-fast internet speeds using next-generation 5G technology via wireless routers. Starting at an affordable ₹999 per month, the service is designed to cater to households and businesses looking for a high-speed, plug-and-play broadband solution.
Initially rolled out in select urban and semi-urban regions, BSNL plans to expand the Quantum 5G FWA network in a phased manner. The company is leveraging its collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and using state-of-the-art indigenous 5G core technology, ensuring a seamless and secure internet experience for its users.
The base ₹999 plan offers speeds of up to 100 Mbps with generous data caps, making it a competitive alternative to fiber broadband plans offered by private telecom operators like Jio and Airtel. Premium plans with higher speeds and unlimited data are also expected in the coming months.
A senior BSNL official stated, “The launch of Quantum 5G FWA represents our commitment to digital inclusion. This wireless broadband solution will especially benefit rural and underserved regions where laying fiber is not feasible.”
With India witnessing a surge in demand for fast and reliable internet connectivity—fueled by the growth of digital education, remote work, and online entertainment—BSNL’s 5G FWA is poised to play a transformative role in bridging the digital divide.
