Fifth Suspect in Disha Patani Bareilly Firing Injured in Police Encounter

In a major breakthrough in the investigation of the firing incident at Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s ancestral home, Uttar Pradesh Police have injured a fifth suspect, Ramniwas alias Deepak alias Deepu, during an encounter. The suspect was allegedly involved in conducting a recce of the property prior to the attack.

The incident on September 12, 2025, saw unidentified assailants opening fire outside Patani’s residence in Bareilly. Reports suggest that two men on a motorcycle discharged 8 to 10 rounds using foreign-made weapons. Fortunately, no casualties were reported at the time, but the attack sent shockwaves across the city and the film fraternity.

Authorities have linked the attack to the notorious Goldy Brar gang, which has a history of carrying out targeted assaults. So far, two suspects have been killed in police encounters, and two juveniles have been detained in connection with the case. The latest encounter involving Ramniwas marks a significant development in the ongoing probe.

According to senior police officials, Ramniwas had been under surveillance for his involvement in the preliminary planning of the attack. “He was actively involved in reconnaissance operations and posed a serious threat. The encounter was necessary to prevent any further criminal activity,” said a senior officer overseeing the investigation.

The police have intensified efforts to dismantle the gang’s network, tracing links across multiple states. Authorities have appealed to the public to provide any information related to the gang’s activities to aid the investigation.

This incident has once again raised concerns over security measures for high-profile individuals in Uttar Pradesh. Local authorities have promised stricter surveillance and enhanced protection around the residences of prominent personalities to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement agencies are working round the clock to ensure that all involved in the attack are brought to justice. The case continues to draw widespread media attention, reflecting growing public concern over organized criminal networks in the region.
