8 September 2025: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has climbed to the 28th position worldwide in the Financial Times Masters in Management (FT MiM) 2025 rankings, while maintaining its position as India’s leading business school. This represents a notable jump from its 41st global ranking in 2024, reflecting the institute’s growing international recognition.
IIMB’s flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), a two-year full-time course, has been praised for its comprehensive curriculum, industry-oriented learning, and strong career support. A significant portion of the FT MiM evaluation is based on alumni feedback, which underscores the success and satisfaction of graduates in their professional journeys.
Within India, IIMB has outperformed other leading business schools, including IIM Ahmedabad, which now holds the 34th position globally. Key ranking factors include salary growth, career progression, global mobility, and diversity among faculty and students. PGP alumni reported a 47% increase in weighted salaries, demonstrating the programme’s impact on professional advancement and return on investment.
On the global stage, the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland leads the 2025 FT MiM rankings, followed by HEC Paris and INSEAD in France. Several UK business schools, including London Business School, experienced a decline due to challenges such as funding limitations and stricter immigration rules. Despite these shifts, IIMB has solidified its place as the only Indian business school to enter the top 30 globally.
Experts view IIMB’s rise as a sign of growing international recognition for Indian management education. The achievement highlights the institute’s commitment to developing future business leaders through rigorous academics, practical exposure, and leadership opportunities. It also reflects the increasing competitiveness of Indian B-schools on a global scale.
This ranking boost is expected to enhance IIMB’s appeal to prospective students and employers, further strengthening its reputation as a premier destination for management education in India and internationally.
