7 July, 2025-Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has raised serious concerns over the possibility of a global conflict, citing the ongoing wars between Israel and Iran, and Russia and Ukraine. Addressing an audience during a public interaction, Gadkari stated that the international situation is becoming increasingly volatile and may lead to a larger conflict resembling a world war.
“The threat of a third world war cannot be ruled out,” he said, stressing the need for India to closely monitor global developments. Gadkari emphasised that future policy decisions should be based on a thorough analysis of the ongoing international crises. “We must first understand and review the international happenings before shaping our own strategies,” he added.
The statement comes at a time when hostilities between Israel and Iran have escalated, with both sides engaging in direct and proxy attacks. The Middle East has witnessed heightened tensions in recent months, with missile strikes, cross-border assaults, and increasing civilian casualties contributing to regional instability.
Meanwhile, the war between Russia and Ukraine, which began in 2022, continues to pose a significant threat to global peace and economic stability. Despite international sanctions and diplomatic interventions, the conflict remains unresolved, with widespread destruction and humanitarian consequences.
