July 31,2025 — In a significant push toward digital inclusion, Reliance Jio on Monday announced the launch of JioPC, an AI-ready cloud-based computer service aimed at making affordable computing accessible to every household and business in India. The service starts at a monthly subscription of just ₹400, positioning itself as a game-changer in the personal computing space.
According to Jio, JioPC eliminates the need for bulky and expensive hardware by offering a virtual desktop experience hosted entirely on the cloud. Users can access the service through any screen, such as a monitor or TV, connected via a small access device, and powered by JioFiber or any stable internet connection.
“JioPC is designed to redefine how India accesses computing. It is secure, scalable, and sustainable,” the company stated in its official release.
The service is especially targeted at students, remote workers, small businesses, and government offices that need low-cost computing without compromising on performance or security. The cloud computer supports Windows-based environments, productivity apps, and access to AI-powered tools, positioning it as a viable alternative to traditional desktop and laptop systems.
As part of the rollout, Jio has partnered with Adobe Express, offering creative tools for users involved in design, content creation, and multimedia tasks. The system will also be capable of handling various regional language inputs, making it inclusive and localized for India’s diverse population.
The launch of JioPC aligns with Jio’s broader vision to accelerate the country’s transition toward cloud-first infrastructure. With computing resources managed centrally in the cloud, users benefit from automatic updates, higher data security, and reduced hardware costs. It also contributes to lower electronic waste, supporting India’s sustainability goals.
JioPC’s plug-and-play model is expected to have strong appeal in rural and semi-urban markets, where the high upfront cost of computers has traditionally been a barrier. With digital education and remote work on the rise, the service arrives at a critical juncture in India’s digital journey.
Experts believe the move will significantly impact the edtech, enterprise, and public sector domains by offering a cost-effective computing solution backed by the scale and reliability of Jio’s network.
While Jio has not revealed a nationwide availability timeline, the service is being offered on a subscription basis, with plans scalable based on usage and need.
With this launch, Reliance Jio continues to expand its presence in India’s technology ecosystem, following up on previous innovations in mobile connectivity, broadband, and cloud services.
