Rolls-Royce Opens Largest Global Capability and Innovation Centre in Bengaluru

Rolls-Royce has officially inaugurated its largest Global Capability and Innovation Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, strengthening the city’s position as a leading hub for aerospace, defence, and advanced engineering. The new facility, located at Manyata Embassy Business Park, marks a significant expansion of the company’s footprint in India.

The inauguration took place on September 17, 2025, with Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, in attendance. The 700-seat centre will host enterprise services, engineering, and digital teams supporting Rolls-Royce’s civil aerospace and defence businesses. The facility also houses the Rolls-Royce Data Labs, which aim to enhance the company’s digital and engineering capabilities.

This expansion underscores the strategic importance of India in Rolls-Royce’s global operations. Helen McCabe, Chief Financial Officer of Rolls-Royce, highlighted the role of Bengaluru in the company’s innovation and engineering ecosystem. “This newly expanded Global Capability and Innovation Centre reaffirms our commitment to leveraging India’s talent and expertise to drive global excellence in aerospace and defence technologies,” she said.

Rolls-Royce has had a presence in India for over 80 years, providing engineering solutions and services across civil aerospace, defence, and power systems. The new centre reflects the company’s long-term investment strategy in the region and its confidence in Bengaluru as a key hub for advanced engineering.

Industry analysts note that the GCC will not only strengthen Rolls-Royce’s operational capabilities but also boost employment opportunities in the region. The centre is expected to support thousands of skilled professionals in engineering, digital solutions, and enterprise operations, further cementing India’s role in the global aerospace and defence supply chain.

With this expansion, Rolls-Royce joins a growing number of multinational corporations investing in Bengaluru to capitalize on its robust talent pool, research capabilities, and innovative ecosystem. The company’s new centre is poised to play a pivotal role in driving technological advancements, fostering collaboration, and contributing to India’s position in the global aerospace sector.
