The fee is expected to apply to a wide range of visa categories, including H-1B work visas, F-1 student visas, L-1 intra-company transfer visas, and B-1/B-2 business and tourist visas. The stated objective of the fee is to fund enhanced vetting procedures and strengthen immigration enforcement.
