India’s largest homegrown streaming platform, ZEE5 — known for its bold and multilingual content — is all set to release its latest Telugu original series, Veerataalem: PC Meena Reporting. This spine-chilling supernatural thriller is set against the eerie backdrop of a fear-stricken rural village in Andhra Pradesh. The series stars Abignya Vuthaluru and Charan Lakkaraju, and is directed by Krishna Poluru. The trailer was unveiled by actor Naveen Chandra, perfectly setting the tone for the mystery and thrill that lies ahead.
The story is set in the 1980s in a small village called Veerataalem, plagued by a terrifying curse — every bride mysteriously dies on her wedding day. No weddings have taken place in the last ten years. The village is gripped by fear, now inhabited only by the elderly and children. Into this haunted setting enters a fearless female police constable (played by Abignya Vuthaluru), who refuses to believe in the curse. With the help of a reformed criminal, she begins to uncover secrets buried deep within the village — secrets people would rather keep hidden. One woman, one village, countless secrets… and some secrets are best left buried.
Director Krishna Poluru shared, “After Rekki, I’m thrilled to collaborate with ZEE5 once again. This series is set in a village where no marriages have taken place for a decade because every bride dies. Fear has silenced the people — and this is a story about breaking that silence.”
