2 July,2025-In a significant move towards digital transformation, Indian Railways has introduced a unified mobile application named RailOne, designed to bring all passenger-related services onto a single platform. The app, developed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), aims to simplify train travel for millions of passengers across the country.
The RailOne app brings together various services that were previously scattered across multiple platforms. These include ticket booking, live train tracking, meal ordering, complaint registration, and station navigation. With a clean interface and user-centric design, the app promises to offer a smoother and more efficient travel experience.
According to railway officials, the new platform supports booking for both reserved and unreserved tickets, in addition to platform tickets. It also enables passengers to cancel bookings, check PNR status, and receive real-time updates on train schedules and delays. The inclusion of a live tracking feature allows users to follow their train’s movement and plan their arrival or departure accordingly.
One of the major additions is the in-seat meal ordering service. Passengers can now pre-book meals from authorized vendors through the app and have them delivered directly to their seat at designated stations. This integration eliminates the need for separate food delivery platforms and is expected to enhance convenience and food safety.
The app also features a station navigation system, which includes interactive maps for major stations. These maps highlight platforms, restrooms, helpdesks, food outlets, and other essential facilities—making it easier for passengers, particularly first-time travelers, to find their way around busy terminals.
To address customer feedback more effectively, the app includes a grievance redressal section, allowing passengers to file complaints and monitor their resolution. Emergency contact numbers and safety-related information are also easily accessible within the platform.
At the launch event, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the development of RailOne is aligned with the goal of creating a more connected, accessible, and technology-driven railway ecosystem. He emphasized that future updates will introduce regional language support and additional features like digital payments, smart notifications, and travel history-based recommendations.
The launch of RailOne marks a new phase in the Indian Railways’ efforts to integrate technology into passenger services. By combining essential functions into one app, the platform aims to reduce dependency on multiple service providers and make train journeys more efficient and user-friendly.
The app is now available for download on both Android and iOS platforms, and Indian Railways has encouraged passengers to explore the new features and offer feedback for future improvements.
