The initiative saw participation from over 8.3 million people, spanning urban and rural regions of the state.
The event, organized by the Andhra Pradesh State Government, was launched with the vision of encouraging healthy living and spreading awareness about the importance of yoga in daily life. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who led the event from the central venue at IGMC Stadium, Vijayawada, commended the public’s enthusiastic participation and highlighted yoga as a tool for promoting both physical and mental wellness. He remarked, “Yoga is not just a practice—it is a lifestyle. This record is not just about numbers, but about transforming lives.”
To ensure the success of the initiative, over 50,000 certified yoga instructors were deployed across the state to conduct guided sessions. A dedicated online portal was used for registrations, live monitoring, and synchronization of yoga performances across all venues, enabling transparency and real-time coordination.
Representatives from Guinness World Records were stationed at multiple key locations to validate the event. The officials confirmed that the participation figure had exceeded previous records, officially granting Andhra Pradesh the new world title for the largest multi-location yoga performance.
Extensive awareness campaigns were conducted weeks in advance, particularly targeting remote regions and tribal areas, to make the event inclusive and far-reaching. The coordinated effort witnessed strong involvement from students, government employees, senior citizens, and members of local communities.
The hashtag #APBreaksWorldRecord dominated social media platforms throughout the day, with thousands of users sharing images, videos, and messages celebrating the state’s achievement. The campaign received appreciation from national leaders, fitness advocates, and international yoga organizations for its scale and inclusivity.
