8 July, 2025-A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the son of a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader after he was caught on camera verbally abusing a woman following a late-night car crash. The accused was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media and triggered widespread public condemnation.
The confrontation occurred on Sunday night after the accused reportedly crashed his car into another vehicle. According to witnesses, a heated argument broke out between him and a woman who was present at the site. Video footage, widely shared online, shows the man using abusive language and behaving aggressively toward the woman, despite her repeated attempts to de-escalate the situation.
Authorities confirmed on Monday that an FIR has been lodged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including criminal intimidation, causing hurt, and public obscenity. The accused has also been charged under the Motor Vehicles Act for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
“A case has been registered based on the complaint and video evidence. A medical examination will determine the level of intoxication. No one is above the law, and necessary action will be taken,” a senior police official said.
The woman involved in the incident told the police that the accused tried to threaten her and used obscene language, attempting to avoid taking responsibility for the crash. She has demanded strict legal action and expressed concern over the potential misuse of political influence in the case.
