“Teachings of Jesus Align with India’s Values of Compassion and Kindness” – Gideon Firll at India Premiere

MightyWrite Media celebrated the India Premiere of “Jesus” with great enthusiasm — a film created entirely in American Sign Language, now dubbed in Indian Sign Language and Hindi, and presented with English subtitles. This unique film, made by Deaf professionals for the Deaf community, has already won acclaim at the international level.

After the grand screening at the India premiere, an engaging Q&A session took place with American actor Gideon Firll (who plays the role of Jesus in the film) and Sumit Malik (an Indian-origin American), who is a great source of inspiration for the Deaf Indian community. Also present at the event were renowned personalities such as music composer and co-founder of Goongoonalo Manan Shah, MightyWrite Media founder Varsha A. Jain, and actor-producer Innamul Haq.

Gideon Firll said – “The teachings of Jesus are deeply connected to Indian values. The message of compassion, empathy, and inclusion perfectly resonates with India’s cultural heritage. It is a matter of pride for me to share this story with Indian audiences.”

This premiere was not just a celebration of a film, but a historic step towards inclusive cinema. “Jesus” bridged the gap of languages and cultures by bringing together American Sign Language, Indian Sign Language, Hindi, and English, delivering a universal message of love and acceptance to all audiences.
